Assignment 9: Luke Webster

I believe firmly that there are two sides to every coin. On the one hand it would be great if everyone got along and things could be settled peacefully. In reality, that is almost never the case. Countries seem hell-bent on absolutely annihilating each other as soon as an opportunity presents itself.

War in some sense can be justified. For instance, our entry into the second world war in response to the attacks on Pearl Harbor. In such a drastic case, retaliatory attack makes sense and should be exercised.

Everyone always seems to push for diplomacy and peace and while I would certainly love it if that were always an option sometimes it isn't. Sometimes the only way someone understands is when you use force to stop them. That's the sad reality of life as a human, that sometimes people just aren't rational and go out into the world looking for fights. Its important to be cognizant of that.
