Assignment 13 – Dilni Abeyrathne

Phone, tablet, computer, laptop, smart watch, game console, the list goes on forever. Here, there, everywhere we look, technology is on the prowl. Nearly everyone is addicted to at least one of these powerful gadgets. How many people do you know that possess a phone? A laptop? A computer? Any other technological device? If you answered at least one, you are correct. Congratulations!

Technology is eating up humanity. Long-held traditions are becoming lost and older practices are being forgotten. Many people don’t know how to sew clothes or make their own things. In addition, many hardly glace out into the lush greens and blues of nature anymore. What a shame. Something needs to be done.

So, why not increase technological advancement? Make everything related to technology. It is clear that the people who despise the idea are a dwindling number. Why prattle on about what could’ve been instead of what could be? The past is the past. The future is what we must work for. A new age is coming: The Age of Technology.

Since most people are already hooked onto some form of technology, why not provide them with more? And even more after that? Now that we are addicted to it and have forgotten the traditions of old, it is time to move on. Increasing technological advancements would make life easier for people, and more fun. With a tap on a screen, one could almost instantly have anything, be it a shirt, a kitchen appliance, or anything in between. Why waste all that time making it yourself when you could have it in such a short time?

Technological roadways, technological houses, technological people – the whole lot is already in our grasp. All it takes is for a hand to grab it.
