My family is very small, I only have my parents, one cousin,
and one set of grandparents in town. For thanksgiving this year we had a total
of 6 people: my parents, my sister, and my grandparents. Sometimes we are very
traditional, for example, on Christmas we always gather at my grandparents and
play cards and eat our traditional snacks and Sister Schubert Rolls. However,
no one in my family is very fond of the traditional thanksgiving meal. Instead
we have steak and salad. This year I got the honor of grilling the steaks,
which if I do say so myself, they were amazing. We then continued the
festivities by playing Shanghai, a card game in which you get a different combination
of books and runs every hand, for three hours. Three hours might seem like an
extremely long time, but it goes surprisingly fast due to jokes, cake and
making fun of how we play the game. I sadly got second to my sister, but I am
hoping to redeem myself this year at Christmas.
