Assignment 14- Kayla Conrad

Holidays are always crazy for my family. Since I have divorced parents I always have two of every holiday. This does come with stress however, deciding which parent gets me at what time and where. Even though much fighting is involved when planning holidays , they always turn out spectacular. If I am with my mom for Thanksgiving, we usually just have a small meal for the 7 family members of us and then sit around and have family time. If I am with my father however, the holidays are always extravagant. We used to go up to St. Louis and meet 13 other family members there and we would all sleep in a 3 bedroom house for 3 days. As long as I went up to St. Louis, I always helped cook the meal. When my grandmother was undergoing chemotherapy, my aunt and I made the whole Thanksgiving dinner for all 15 by ourselves. The only traditions we have are homemade rolls every year my grandfather and I make and all the drama that comes of the holiday. Every year someone gets made and goes to the casino for the night, someone else is in the hospital, and 6 others are attempting to sleep on a hardwood floor, fun times right? Even though  The holidays may be stressful, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
