Assignment 9: Max Young

War, war never changes. When I read this question I sat back in my chair and stroked my imaginary beard for a second. Is there time for war, that's a really hard question for me to answer. I think that as humans we have some sort of innate animalistic drive towards war rather than other, more civil ways of settling disagreements. I'm not sure if I would say that there is a time for war, but we naturally have an us versus them mentality, and the problem within that is that in most cases, not a single way exists to have a conversation or discussion with somebody who is angry with another "team." So, while I'm in no way encouraging war, there isn't really a better or viable option, in my personal opinion. On the other hand, when things like genocide are occurring around the world, I see it as completely just to instigate war with the oppressors. Pieces of history should've taught us by now to fight against oppression of all peoples.  That goes along with when countries have a moral obligation to go to war. Especially places such as the US, being the "melting pot" and "police force" of the world.
