Assignment 19 - Trip Church
The most memorable piece of advice I have received is, "do not worry about what others think of you." Yes, I know this is really cliche, but maybe its so cliche because it is good advice. I used to get really anxious. In the past I was really shy, and only really opened up around people if I really trusted them and felt comfortable around them. I was always so worried that other people would judge every little thing I did, so I became really self-conscious about the most inane things. After hearing this piece of advice for the millionth time, I actually stopped to think about it. Maybe, just maybe, people say that for a reason. I realized that more often than not, other people don't notice or care about a lot of the potentially embarrassing things that I or others do. Most people are too worried about themselves to worry about you. As i realized this, I have slowly come out of my "shell" more and more, and I am still working to be more social and fun, despite my introverted nature.
