1. Whatever way I deem appropriate? I think I will compare two movies' scores, both by the music makers. La La Land and The Greatest Showman. Both movies contain amazing, catchy, genius soundtracks that will keep you singing and listening to them months after viewing the film. The songwriters, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, are making a name for themselves with genius pieces like "City of Stars" in La La Land and "This is Me" in The Greatest Showman. These movies have different styles though (Pasek and Paul showing off their variety of talent), a jazz foundation for La La Land and pop and a more "broadway musical" style in The Greatest Showman. Both soundtracks were successful in award shows and definitely successful in my Spotify playlist.
2. I do not know how to link my review but I gave The Greatest Showman 3.5 stars and here is the review:
"I loved this movie. And the soundtrack made it all the better. It was fun to watch and extremely entertaining. However, not true to history at all, it was very watered down and made PT Barnum a hero. In history, PT Barnum can be argued as a horrible person but in some ways his actions were good by taking the "untouchables" in and giving them a place. But he was rude to them, treated them like slaves and as they were seen in society. In The Greatest Showman, Barnum was not portrayed in this way. However, this movie is entertaining and isn't that what show biz is going for? Isn't that what this movie is all about, the birth of show biz?"
