Assignment 19- Kayla Conrad

Good Advice; it doesn’t come around very often but the right words at the right time can make a world of difference. The best advice I have ever received was actually very recently by my pastor. Speak the truth but line it with grace. I tend to be very blunt and honest because I was always told to speak the truth. But sometimes speaking the plain truth can cause more harm than good. Our words must be gentle in not to harm our relationships but still be able to strengthen our relationships by being honest. If, I’m our relationships, there is no value of honesty, there can be no growth. The most growing we can have is when the people closest to us give us perspective and outside views. If honesty comes without no relationship, there can also be no growth because we don’t value the relationships. At the end of the day, you must straddle the line between speaking the truth, and speaking with grace.
