If I’m being honest the future scares me: so many possibilities,
choices, and paths. I haven’t ever really thought of a specific bucket list
before. I have general goals, like to be someone people can look up to or help
someone get through a tough time. But as for specific goals while thinking
about what I would answer to this blog post I came up with these things to
start my bucket list.
1.
During my remaining year in high school I want
to fly a kite. Although it sounds arbitrary and pointless, which it kind of is,
I never have flown a kite and I think it could be a fun experience. I imagine
having a picnic in a park and going kayaking and flying a kite. It would be a
blast to have a time like that with my friends before I leave for college. I
hope that if I do ever fly a kite it can be beautiful: something like a bird or
butterfly or even one that is an odd geometrical shape. I hope I also get to do
this with someone who has flown a kite before so that I have better odds of
getting it to work.
2.
In college I hope to find a group of friends
that I belong in. I have been fortunate enough to have a wonderful high school
experience. I have found a family within the band program and my church and
have many good friends in addition to those. In college I want to have the time
of my life with people who I grow extremely close to and who accept me to be
apart of their family. Although this isn’t necessarily one thing I can check
off a list it is my goal for my time in college.
3.
I love to travel. My dad travels for work and so
he often will take my whole family on vacation because he is so comfortable
with the traveling process. I hope that before I die I can travel more. I want
to hike, skydive, and scuba dive. But, the one thing I especially want to put
on my bucket list is to see the Northern Lights. They are beautiful in pictures
and I can’t even begin to imagine how beautiful they must look in person.
