Assignment 18: Joseph Craven

High School: Before I finish high school, I want to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout within the Scouting program. I have made many leaps over the years to get to where I am now in Boy Scouts, with Eagle Scout being the final major hurdle set before me. In order to get this, I must complete a 20-hour service project as well as finishing a multitude of badges. However, I only have until November to do this, as I will age out of the program then. If I can accomplish this, I will be left with a satisfying accomplishment that many colleges and businesses recognize.

College: Sometime before I finish college, I want to travel to Europe. I have gone across the nation to California and even across the globe to China, yet I have never traveled to Europe before. Both of my grandparents on my dad's side were European immigrants (my grandfather came from Britain and my grandmother came from Sweden) so Europe would have a great amount of significance for me. Hopefully I can travel to the vast continent someday with family or friends.

Life: Narrowing one goal set up for my entire life is certainly a daunting task, but when I think of a life-long goal with decades to work towards, I think of leaving a significant impact on my world. For personal accomplishments, this could be contributing to a large-scale tech company in an innovative way, or even setting up my own company that is able to succeed at least somewhat. However, on a smaller-scale personal level, I think organizing a close family would work well enough for leaving my mark on the world.
