Assignment 19: Nathan Boshard

I have never once been given a non-trivial piece of advice in my entire life, and I know because if any such advice was ever given to me I would've taken it to heart. The only thing I can say is that I have certain principles I live by that would be rather inspiring given as advice to someone. For instance, I live by the principle "If you want something done right, do it yourself." By this principle, I have no one to blame when something gets done wrong, and I've also learned how to do something right in the future. It promotes a sort of extreme self-reliance that grants me more hardship (albeit small), that I would have otherwise evaded if I let someone else do it for me. I also generally don't like feeling useless. If I want to change the brake pads on my car, fix a leaky pipe, or have my house spring-cleaned, I would prefer to do it myself so that I save money and learn something in the process. Not to mention the fact that whatever I may learn would be applicable in the real world. This is one of the many principles that has determined my behavior and altered the path I walk in life. Overall, I have no consequential advice that has been given to me, but I have advice that I think is important to give to those willing to listen.
