Ever stared out a car window and thought to yourself, “What
if I was in an action movie right now?” And sometimes your music synchs up just
right, and you have yourself a soundtrack guiding your rampant imagination. Anyone
else? Just me? Well, if you want to give it a try, I present to you: “Songs to
Play When You’re Pretending to be in a Bond Movie,” because what movie series better
encapsulates drama, action, and intrigue than James Bond.
James Bond Theme – John Barry Orchestra: Just to get you in
the mood; set the scene, you could say.One Time – Marian Hill: Pan to the opening scene: Bond in an expensive tux and sports car worth more than your house, driving to a club, gambling den, high-class political party. Maybe he’ll meet his Bond Girl while schmoozing with the elite. Bond screams luxury and class, with a little hint of danger (like the song).
Blood / / Water – grandson: Here comes the action scene; the tension builds for the first minute as Bond approaches his target before the beat hits and the real fighting starts. How could you lose with background music like this?
I Feel Like I’m Drowning – Two Feet: Here’s the song for when Bond inevitably gets shot, or stabbed, or drowned (because no movie ever goes perfectly for the protagonist). He’s got to patch himself back up and regain his resolve before launching back into the fray.
Don’t Trust That Woman – James Quick: And here enters the villainess (most likely the “innocent” Bond Girl). The chorus plays as she reveals her true nature, shooting some poor victims straight through the head before sauntering away in high heels.
Put It On Me – Matt Maeson: Last song of the movie, playing as Bond exits the screen. It’s got an air of finality, but mostly it just sounds really cool.
