Assignment 17: Nathan Boshard
Both Kinsgman and Kingsman: The Golden Circle were directed by Matthew Vaughn. Kingsman has a coming of age and hero journey archetype, whereas The Golden Circle lacks coming of age part. The Golden Circle also includes a story of betrayal which Kingsman does not. The two movies, however, do have many similar roles fulfilled. There is a "boss" character, an unpredictable free radical, a supporting "operator" character, and of course the insane villain. Both movies do have a similar ending: a bittersweet "save the world" cliche. Both movies also have a theme of sacrifice. Given the similarity of many of the plot elements, this is pretty much all of the notable comparisons and differences between the movies.
