Assignment 21- Joseph Craven
Believe it or not, back in middle school I went through a phase of getting into running. Although now my regular running has been transformed into using the treadmill at my gym and an occasional jog around the block, it was something I used to be into. So when I heard about a local 5K going on, I was excited. It was a new challenge being presented to me, a race that I had never done before. I was ready to not only take part, but to do the whole race in under 30 minutes (while I could probably do this easily now, it was an exciting challenge to prepare for at the time). So I trained, doing my regular rounds around the neighborhood, going further and faster with each run, until the race came. I was becoming slower as the race went on, until I got to the finish line. I still had my half hour goal in mind, and when I saw that the timer was about 15 seconds till 30 minutes, I went into panic mode and did a mad sprint to the finish. I think I finished with around 2 seconds until 30 minutes so, through hard work, I was happy with what I had done then.
