Explanation:
When I first start to procrastinate I start doing things that I enjoy but also take forever to do so that I can waste more time. This is represented in the cycle of my procrastination by American Pie, which is very long, but also nostalgic of a summer camp I went to (it was always the last song they played). Then I start to realize I’m just doing long tasks, so I decide to do something that seems useful but really isn’t, so to represent this we have Birdhouse in You’re Soul, because you can spend forever interpreting and re-interlreting the lyrics which seems useful, but in no way is. Then the realization of procrastination sets in and I freak out and get stressed about completeing whatever task. So to represent that we have: It’s the End of the World As We Know It. Then I start working really hard to try to complete it, so this song is Non-stop. And then I accept its not happening and that it’s Impossible, so for this we have the song Impossible. So then I decide to stop doing it and deal with it the next day. To represent this we have the song: Closing Time, because I don’t need to go to sleep but I can’t keep doing homework. Then the next morning I wake up: Here Comes the Sun. Then, I’m a Believer that I can finish the assignment before school starts. Then I finish just before the deadline: How Far We’ve Come (in this procrastination cycle). And then it all restarts, because I faced no consequences and have no reason to not procrastinate again.
