Steven Spielberg -- one of the well-known directors in our time. He has created multiple classics, and will continue to do so in his career. What I've decided to compare are these two movies: Schindler's List, and A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
First off: Yes, I do understand these movies are completely different in their story and concept, but it truly shows how well Spielberg is at directing. What I would like to point out about these movies is just that -- they're both completely different. Schindler's List is a movie about WWII and the torment the Jewish population of Poland went through; A.I. is about a robotic child "simulation" that tries their hardest to become a human boy. What also makes me appreciate Spielberg even more in both of these movies is his ambitious nature. In Schindler's List, Spielberg makes the movie entirely in black and white, during an era where every single movie is in color, while in A.I., Spielberg uses sci-fi to create a new and interesting world, in a time where sci-fi wasn't as prevalent.
In conclusion, what amazes me about Spielberg's directorial career is how ambitious his movies are, along with how amazing the plot is itself. Spielberg takes chances while other directors wouldn't.
