Assignment 2 - Dilni Abeyrathne

I’ve read several books over the past year, too many to include on this list. However, here are a few that I found the most intriguing:

-Across the Universe by Beth Revis (I read this trilogy quite quickly, as it was very interesting. The story follows a girl on a mission in space. It was truly a series that I could not put down until the epilogue.)

- My Diary from the Edge of the World by Jodi Lynn Anderson (This is a beautiful coming-of age story about a girl understanding the value of family. It was very heartwarming and led me on an inspiring and heartfelt adventure.)

-Oceana by Ted Danson and Michael D'Orso (I read this as part of my summer assignment. This book about the marine world was truly inspiring and touching. I would definitely recommend this, as it does a fantastic job of displaying the degrading of the Earth’s beautiful marine life and how important the ocean is to our survival.)

-Ranger’s Apprentice: The Early Years by John Flanagan (This series is a prequel to the Ranger’s Apprentice series, which I adore. It is humorous, interesting, and above all has lovable characters and a fantastic storyline that kept my interest till the end. At the moment, I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.)

-The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (I read this last year in AP Seminar and I am glad I did. It was an intriguing story and was beautifully depicted by the author.)

-The Search for WondLa by Tony DiTerlizzi (I have not finished this book yet. Though I plan on finishing it, it has not kept my interest as well as some other books I have read. But, every book deserves a chance.)

-The Water and the Wild by K.E. Ormsbee (This book is about a girl going on a magical search to help her ill friend. I found this book to be very lovely and heartwarming, as the author masterfully captured the essence of a young mind looking to help.)

-Writing with Style: Conversations on the Art of Writing (3rd Edition) by John R. Trimble (This book, in addition to being a wonderful teacher on the art of writing, was also very interesting to read. The style certainly kept my attention for the entire read.)
