I’m Delaney Weber. I spend a fair amount of my time and attention on my schoolwork, but I also participate in several choirs. Classical choral music is a passion of mine. I discovered this love when I joined the Lexington Singers Children’s Choir five years ago. At the time, LSCC seemed daunting – the sight-reading skills, the complexity of the pieces, the college-level director. Now, having sung in Carnegie Hall, participated in exchanges with the best children’s choirs in the nation, and being asked to sing with several high-level adult choirs, I find myself immersed in a world of music. Currently, I am entranced with Faure’s Requiem. On Sundays, I attend three-hour rehearsals that always end before I want them to. I deeply enjoy learning about the thought behind the composition. Some people get excited for Comic-Con or baking, but classical choral music is what truly geeks me out.
