I will admit I have not read as much as I would have liked to over the past year. Over the last twelve months or so I have spent much of my reading in very tight categories, reading things that are very similar and not branching out as much as I would have liked to. A majority of my reading over the past twelve months has been books from movies, such as the Hunger Games trilogy and the Divergent series, although I got bored and only read two of the Divergent series books, stopping in the middle of the third book. I did enjoy the Dystopian group of books featuring the Maze Runner trilogy, Divergent trilogy and the Hunger Games books. I think I enjoyed these books so much, because they made me think about my future, and all the craziness going on in our country and how that could effect out future, although I don't believe it will be as crazy as it is in any of those book examples, our world could look drastically different in the very near future.
I also liked reading all kinds of Stephen King novels. I have grown up on Stephen King, although I haven't been allowed to read any of his better (darker) books until very recently, I have enjoyed reading as much Stephen King as I can especially with waves of new Stephen King movies coming out, such as Carrie, the Dark Tower and soon to be out IT!! I believe Stephen King is one of the greatest writers of all time, boasting great novels and short stories such as the Shaw-shank Redemption, by far my favorite book of all time, because it was so interesting and well written.
