Assignment 6: Anne Douglas

I love television. I love the production, the passion, the creativity, the different worlds it creates, the comedic relief, the nostalgia, the characters, the culture. Everything. Television is one of the greatest unifiers four culture. Any two strangers, who seemingly have nothing in common, can instantly connect over the exciting episode they saw last night of their shared favorite show. My love for televisions one of my go-to ice breakers. More often than not, my preferred smalltalk opener is asking someone if they have seen "The Office" or "Parks and Recreation." These two shows are my all time favorites and I have found that many others enjoy them as well.
I watch t.v all the time. On an everyday basis I like to rewatch either parks and rec, the office, how I met your mother, or New Girl. I've seen every episode of all these shows at least once and they still never fail to keep me entertained. On special occasions, when I have more time to sit down and focus on a show, I like to watch something new. Recently I've started a couple shows: "Crashing" on HBO with Pete Holmes, "Silicon Valley", "Santa Clarita Diet,"and the voice. At this point I sometimes feel that I have seen every good show that Netflix has to offer, but every once and a while I strike gold, and fall in love with a new show. Television is a comforting my life, and I am so fortunate that I have the ability to enjoy such a luxury.
