Blog Post 8 - Delaney

Fears – failure
Annoyances – people who think they’re better than they are, hypocrisy,
Accomplishments – being in the academy, SO MUCH community service (like 50 hrs a month)
Confusions – white lies (what’s the point, just tell the truth?)
Sorrows – respecting people who don’t deserve it
Dreams – travel, continuing music, college
Idiosyncrasies – choir nerd, love camping (cooking really good food over fires)
Risks – continuing LSCC
Beloved Possessions, then and now – my books (then), my bed/ the internet (now)
Problems – balancing my time

Over the years, I’ve found it harder and harder to respect other people when they haven’t earned it. Teachers and adults are one thing, but I find myself losing respect for some of my peers because of their actions. For example, a kid in one of my choirs constantly disrespects my friends and me. I warned him to stop and I asked him to quit talking to me. And yet he continues. Not only does this kid disrespect me, he also disrupts rehearsal and talks back to the director. He constantly speaks out of turn and never listens to instructions. When I first met him, I knew we wouldn’t grow close but now I realize that I become agitated and angry whenever we interact. Although he’s an extreme case, a few others who have lost my respect for similar reasons as well. Maybe – if they get their act together – I might consider reversing my opinion of them.
