Assignment 2: Joseph Craven
This assignment will undoubtedly be a difficult one to write, as I rarely (if ever) read for fun. I much prefer watching movies and TV shows over reading. As a result, the only books from the past year that stand out to me are ones that I read for class. And out of the minimal selection of books that I have read, The Great Gatsby stands out for me. At the end of the second semester of AP Seminar, the class read it as a group, with each person being assigned a role in each chapter. I liked this way of reading The Great Gatsby, as it resulted in more personality being placed into the reading, and it removed the need to read it outside of school. I was also drawn into the time period of the story, as I find the early 20th century an interesting part of history. Aside from The Great Gatsby, an honorable mention on my very short list of books that I read goes to Game of Thrones, which I did not finish due to my choice to begin watching the show before I was done with the book.
