Assignment 6 - Lauren Chatfield
I go back and forth on what I want my future to look like. I'd love to be a pharmacist or a elementary school teacher or a psychologist. The one that sticks with me the most is pharmacy. I get so frazzled thinking about my future and what I am going to do with all of my time I have in this life but I am certain of one thing - I wanna be in a career where I never stop learning. I hope no matter where life takes me I'm always expanding my knowledge and discovering new things and that I never stop strengthening my brain. Science has always meant the most to me in school. Growing up in a household of two lawyers, everyone talked about how they hate science and how dumb it is. I'd always believed that I am not good at science and I won't like it so I'm not gonna give it a chance. Over lunch one day with my Aunt (but she's not actually my aunt) Jennifer, a retired judge, she told me she loved chemistry. That made me realize I really don't have to hate science. Since then, I have loved it. I love chemistry and the way it makes the world me live in simplify into things understandable - it answers the "what ifs." Chemistry keeps me on my toes and changes what I assume to know about my surroundings. Chemistry has creating a new way of thinking in me, to challenge what I believe to be true about the things I live around.
