Assignment 12 - Erin

Order. Organization. I gotta have it.

If there's one thing you must know about me before we begin living together, it's that I am perhaps overly orderly. From my desk to my bookshelf, right down to my sock drawer, everything has a place. I keep two daily planners: one for personal purpose (medicines, housekeeping, appointments) and one for school use (homework, tests, events). Every day has a to-do list.

A few times a year, I completely reorganize and deep-clean my bedroom. Clothes are organized by type and color; space arranged to account for any new clothes purchased between cleanings. Books are lined up by author and genre; shelves are ranked in order of reading frequency. Shoes stored in order of most to least used, depending on the season of course. And even down to my backpack –which is organized by my class schedule– I make sure everything is in its place.

That's not to say I don't have slip ups. Though I often live by my lists, not everything always gets done, and that's okay. Sometimes the room gets a bit messy during a busy week. But when this happens it just means that I'll get to straighten up again. And I did intend to say "get to" because I am one of those rare young people who actually enjoys and derives contentment from a good cleaning.

So, should we be sharing a living space, don't be surprised if I ask to keep up with the organization.
