One thing that sets me apart from others is that I value, above almost all else, efficiency. Efficiency is the key to success.
Throughout my life, I’ve always tried my best to get things done well and get them done fast. As seen in my though process, I am always trying to improve on the processes of everyday life. For example, cleaning the kitchen consists of five tasks (clearing off and wiping off the counters/ table, emptying / reloading the dishwasher, and sweeping the floor). As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found the most efficient order of these tasks to most effectively clean the kitchen in the shortest amount of time. First, you clear the counters, putting dirty dishes in the sink and giving you a surface to actually wipe off. Then, after wiping the counters, you sweep the floor, picking up any crumbs that might have fallen when wiping off the counters. After that, you unload and reload the dishwasher, hand washing any dishes that don’t fit. It’s simple, really. Because this is the most efficient order of completion, I’ve decided to always follow this order while cleaning the kitchen.
I’ve also decided on studying chemical engineering in college. Currently, my top choice of school is the University of Cincinnati. Their program focuses on a co-op rotation - as does UK’s. However, UK is NOT my first choice. The difference between these two schools is that the University of Cincinnati as already formed bonds with the surrounding companies and constantly supply those companies with co-op students. UK’s program allows students to participate in a co-op rotation but the students are the ones to go seek out the opportunities. Cincinnati’s program is much more efficient in this respect, because the process for me to get involved in a co-op is easier and faster. Cincinnati’s program is also efficient because, as a chemical engineering student, I can earn a Master’s Degree in only 5 years.
The University of Cincinnati is my first choice because, just like me, they value efficiency.
