My family bleeds blue. At my grandparents wedding reception they watched the Cats play (and get beat by Duke) and just this past week my grandmother preferred to watch the game over going prom dress shopping. But me?
I love Lexington. I shop local as much as possible. I even work at a restaurant that is completely local. At work nearly everything is local, the beef, the cheese, the mushrooms, everything. We are known for our Hot Browns and our Bourbon Balls. And I love it. I love the locals who talk of the "pit" now being resurrected and the Cats point averages. I also love the people coming off the road who make our little deli the place they stop in Lexington, They tell their children to order something "southern" and groan in delight over our fried green tomatoes and our fried catfish.
I love Lexington and I support it whole heartily and while I may not have the love for the Cats most of my family has I love Lexington's little things. I love m little deli and the little hole in the wall bookstore I frequent after work.
