Songs that Remind Me of My Cousin

At first glance, these songs seem nothing a like and the playlist does not make much sense, but it makes perfect sense to me...
My cousin, Krista, introduced me to her music taste which today, is now my own. She has an amazingly wide range of interest and every song she plays for me I fall in love with.

Lisztomania (Phoenix)- This was one of the first songs that she played and I realized, wow, I love the music she listens to. It was fun and catchy. We would play it loud and drive down the road singing it at the top of our lungs.

First (Cold War Kids)- Cold War Kids has become one of my favorite bands and I remember realizing how much I liked them while Krista and I were helping my grandma paint our great grandmothers house.

Tokyo (Imagine Dragons)- This one has a slightly different story. This is one of my dad's favorite songs and he would always jokingly play it very loud in the car and sing it at the top of his lungs. One day when we were driving with Krista, he did this. Krista caught on and went along and everyone joined in. It became an inside joke with Krista and my dad and will always remind me of her.

That Was A Crazy Game of Poker (O.A.R.)- This song is weird and that is why I love it and so does Krista. She always listens to these weird songs that I would probably have never heard of if it weren't for her and I treasure those songs because they illuminate her uniqueness.

How's It Going To Be (Third Eye Blind)- This is a good cap to Krista's music taste (a good country song would have worked here as well). She really loves alternative music and this song seems like a good definition of alternative. It is different and even more different that a teenager is listening to it in 2018. I love it though.

Krista has been a huge influence on my life since day one. She has been a mentor to me and the "cool kid" that I wanted to be when I grew up and was her age. She is 2 years older than me and I can seriously learn so much her. She may be my cousin but she is also my best friend.
